moreton island

Moreton Island is the world’s second largest sand island and only 40 kilometres from Brisbane. Once the site of a penal settlement, whaling station and sand mine, 95% of the island is now protected as national park. Three small townships and a resort are the only developments on the island, making it a unique, natural playground for visitors.

  • Sand Toboggan at 65km/hr down the world's highest dunes
  • Snorkel amongst sunken wrecks
  • See manta rays, wild dolphins, turtles birdlife & whales (May-Nov)
  • Swim in Blue Lagoon

There are no sealed roads on the island so transport is by 4WD only.

May 3 - 5 (overnight weekend trip)
Cost:
$260 ( includes fully guided safari, all meals, comfortable safari accommodation, bus/boat return transfer, 4WD transport on island, body surfing on Eastern beach, swimming in Blue Lagoon, campfires, stargazing, adventure equipment, National Park fees, a party atmosphere, friendly guides & lots of fun.
