International Students' Farewell

Time: 3:30pm (followed by afternoon tea and photography)
Venue: Gardens Theatre, Gardens Point

Every semester the Vice-Chancellor invites graduating international students to a farewell event at the Gardens Theatre. This will be a great opportunity for you to celebrate the completion of your final year at QUT with your friends before you embark on your last exams.

The Farewell Function will include a short address by the Vice-Chancellor and representative of QUT Alumni as well as a traditional indigenous farewell. After the speeches there will be afternoon tea for all, followed by opportunities to take photographs and to catch up with friends.

Tickets

To attend the event you'll need a ticket which can be collected from the International Student Services Counter.

Academic dress hiring

To those of you who wish to wear academic dress to this event (this is optional) and have photographs taken in academic dress, you must make these arrangements yourself.  Email Janette Corporal, QUT Student Guild Academic Dress Co-ordinator at gowns@guildonline.net .

Your email must state that you want to hire academic dress for the INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FAREWELL.  Please provide the following details:

• Your full name and phone number
• Your degree, eg. Bachelor of Business
• Your full height in centimetres

Price for renting a gown is $55 (cash only) payable when you collect the gown.

Collection of the academic dress will be 9-10am Monday the 20th of October and 3-4pm Friday the 24th of October. Please make sure to book the academic dress in advance.

Photography

Official photographers will be at the Gardens Theatre from 3:00pm to 4:30pm on the day of the farewell event. You will be able to get a picture of yourself and with your friends wearing the academic dress (see details on renting one above). Prints of the photos can be ordered on-line.
