As part of its respect for each person, QUT will not tolerate discrimination or harassment, that is, unfair treatment on the basis of characteristics such as sex, cultural identity, age, disability, religion or sexual orientation. The University has specific policies and procedures regarding sexual and gender-based harassment, and racial discrimination and harassment. These policies are included in the Student Rules chapter of the QUT Handbook and are available from the Equity Section.

If at any time during your study at QUT you experience discrimination or harassment, you should report it – even if you do not want to make a formal complaint. QUT has trained Discrimination Contact Officer to provide you with information and confidential advice on your options. International Student Advisers at ISS are also contact officers. If you feel you need help please go to ISS and ask to see someone about this. All discussions are kept strictly confidential with no action being taken without your consent.

To obtain copies of QUT's equity policies or publications, or for confidential advice or information on equity matters, get in touch with a Discrimination Contact Officer
