The International Orientation Program will
assist you with issues such as airport reception, your enrolment, temporary
and permanent accommodation, fees, visa responsibilities, discovering
Brisbane, overseas health cover and adjusting to your new environment.

(ISS) www.issupport.qut.edu.au . ISS provides assistance to those who
find difficulty in adjusting to living and studying in Brisbane. If you
would like updates on the general orientation program at QUT, visit the

Information and support is available for First Year students through
workshops offered
by ISS.

Financial preparation – Keep in mind that there are living costs
that are additional to your tuition fees. Find out more about the living
cost.

Visa responsibilities – As an international student, it is your
responsibility to ensure that your student visa remains valid. If you
intend to extend your study period, apply for a work permit, or would
like more information about immigration issues, visit www.immi.gov.au
to find out more about studying in Australia.

Personal belongings – During certain seasons in Brisbane, the
weather can become hot and humid. Keep in mind the weather conditions
and your personal belongings you will need when coming to study.

Documents – Ensure that you bring along any relevant documents
(passport, driver’s licence etc) to open bank accounts. If you are
seeking exemption on units for previous study, don’t forget to bring
academic transcripts as evidence of your previous study.

Student Services. ISS provides assistance to support international students
while they study in QUT.
