Research students enrolling in a Phd, Professional Doctorates, or Masters by Research are required to attend an orientation interview at ISS. This interview is to ensure that you complete all enrolment procedures, are informed of available services, and if applicable, ensure that your scholarship entitlements commence as soon as possible. To make an appointment email: issadvice@qut.edu.au or phone +61 7 3138 2019 or visit ISS at Y113 Gardens Point campus as soon as you arrive. You can get your QUT ID card as soon as you arrive on campus, but you will need to bring your passport and current visa details. If you applied through an evisa please bring a print-out of the email confirming your student visa. Download the Semester 2 International Orientation Program. Other university offices that can assist research students are listed here. Student Business Services (SBS) - SBS is responsible for administrative services regarding your admission, acceptance and issuing of electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) for visa purposes, processing any changes of course, processing leave forms, and compliance monitoring to Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). Scholarship students should contact SBS with any scholarship enquiries. SBS also assist with your overseas student health care cover (OSHC) and communication with your sponsors. Research Students Centre - The Research Students Centre is responsible for processing your enrolment and can provide more detailed information on being a research student at QUT.
