Understanding that there are many things to do and remember before your departure, below is a general checklist that you can use as a guide in your preparation. Please remember that this is a guide and you can tailor your own checklist.

Have you made your flight arrangement?

A month before the start of the semester, some flights into Brisbane are fully booked. Therefore it is important that once you have received your Confirmation of Enrolment that you book your flight as soon as possible.

Have you prepared these documents?

A valid passport with a valid student visa and a print-out of your eVisa if you have applied the student visa online. Please ensure that your passport is valid throughout your stay in Australia.
Certified copies of your birth certificate and other identification.
Certified copies of your educational qualifications, and course and subjects outlines of any pervious studies.
In case you lose the originals, make colour copies of your passport, record the serial numbers of your travellers cheques and any bank draft.
A print-out of your Confirmation of Enrolment form and Letter of offer from QUT.
Health documents - Any letters from your doctor for regular medication and a current optical perscription, if neccessary, your private Health insurance documents and receipts.
Driver licence. Photocopied Driver licence is not accepted.

Have you booked your airport reception?

If you required QUT to provide you with an airport pickup service, please proceed to the Airport Reception page. Please note that this service is only for new QUT International Student.

Have you booked your temporary accommodation?

If you have not secured any permanent accommodation, please make sure that you book yourself into QUT designated temporary accommodation . It is not advisable to try and find temporary accommodation after you have arrived in Brisbane, as hotels and backpackers can be fully booked at these times of the year.

Have you redirected all important mails to the address in Brisbane?

If you have not secured permanent accommodation, you can use ISS as an temporary address.

Have you finished your packing list?

Please remember to read What to Bring section as it contains important information that might affect your packing list. You should read up your country airport regulation on the items that can be hand carried on the plane.

Have you bought some Australia currency?

It is important that you carry some cash with you before you arrive in Australia as you might not have time to change it at the airport. It is advisable to carry just enough to cover your food and accommodation costs for the first week.
